Hot Rumour: Dennis Mills To Run For Mayor

TEN is hearing that former Liberal Broadview-Greenwood MP and SARStock organizer Dennis Mills will register on Monday to run for mayor of Toronto.

Not one but two well-connected city hall insiders got in touch with Toronto Election News to let us know that word is slowly getting out about Mills’ candidacy. Mills is widely known for organizing World Youth Day and currently serves as CEO of Magna International.

This, of course, would make three prominent Liberals joining the mayoral contest, with a possible fourth in Budget Chief Shelley Carroll.

Anyone with additional information can feel free to drop TEN a line.

Update (Feb 26): Mills denies rumour and endorsed mayoral candidate Rocco Rossi on AM64o this morning.

Interesting development, he is well known and considered a 'right wing' liberal by some observers. The slate is quite full and still no real conservative is running though which is a concern.

Really? At least stupid rumours like Ruby Dhalla and Glen Murray are people from THIS CENTURY!

  3. Frank says:

    He is a complete joke

  4. PMK says:

He does have one advantage, I believe he still has a sign from his 1993 campaign attached to the side of a building on the west side of Pape just across from the subway station.

  5. Max says:

Isn't Dennis Mills the guy who is responsible for saddling us with the corrupt and incompetent Toronto Port Authority?
