Globe: Giambrone Not Quitting
Feb 09, 2010 | admin | 5
The Globe is reporting that mayoral candidate will stay in the race amid reports of an “inappropriate relationship” with university student Kristen Lucas:
“This has been a painful day for Adam,” [Campaign Manager John] Laschinger said. “He’s embarrassed that his lapse in judgment reflects on Sarah, his family, his friends. He’s apologized.
“In this day and age, the public expects their politicians to be frank and full and transparent with them. And I think Adam’s done that, as painful as it was. We’ve received a number of messages of support and sympathy for Adam. And you know, we’re proud of him and grateful for the expressions of support and we’re continuing to get on with the job of planning the campaign.”

No. He waited until he got caught and then tried to offer up an explanation. That is very, very different.
Looks like John Laschinger hooked himself to the wrong wagon in this race.
Any popularity he now gains will now be overshadowed by the fact that he missed a good opportunity to be honest and respectful with both his "relations" and the people he expects to woo in an upcoming election. Next candidate please!
Let's focus on changing the city of Toronto. Enough of looking into people's personal lives, please!!
@elle: how Adam behaves in his private life is very relevant to how he will conduct his public life. If he lies, cheats, forges documents and shows minimal responsibility towards people he's intimate with and 'cares' about, why are we to believe that he would be honest, responsible or transparent with the faceless electorate?
The people of Toronto have to show courage and demand ethical leadership. A man who abuses trust like Adam is betting that enough gullible voters believe that he will put them before his own whims and vanity. Are we, as an electorate, so willing to be led like a dog on a leash? Why are we too timid to tell the candidates that we want good character?
